To a large extent, education is delivered through government agencies. Here are links to some of the most important parties in Kansas government and politics.
The Governor proposes the state budget, which is available at the Kansas Division of Budget.
The Legislature enacts laws (see the statute database) and the budget, subject to the rules of the Kansas courts and the state’s constitution. (Education is addressed in Article 6.)
The Kansas State Department of Education is a separate state agency, governed by ten-member Board of Education that is elected by the public, in geographic districts.
