Listing of  of Virtual Schools in Kansas (2009-2010)

The following information is derived from an MS-Word document available from KSDE, which shows “approved” virtual schools. I have changed the formatting somewhat to make it easier to read, and omitted the contact information. As time permits, I’ll add the contact information.

Some programs emphasis “credit recovery” (giving students a chance to take a class they flunked out of). Others included students for advanced students, all students (general education) or adult education students.

Hope Street Academy

A charter school operated by USD 501 Topeka. As of this writing (7/07), the web site has little information about the program, such as who is eligible, how it works, what curriculum is used, and so forth. It appears to be geared for “credit recovery” students (i.e., those who have failed a course and need to make it up) within USD 501.
